Following on from the re-opening of the View Point Cafe and Kiosk, Yeo Group have announced the re-opening of The Alex Café Bar, on Tuesday 1st September.
After a major refurbishment behind the bar, Dom, Preston and their crew have been hard at work sprucing and scrubbing, and will be opening the doors to welcome back customers from (initially) 9am till 9pm every day.
The Café Bar has also had a cosmetic makeover: new floors, new coffee machine, more colour and an exciting new menu, but Yeo Group has stated that ‘we are especially delighted to have the same, friendly faces behind the bar, in the kitchen and out front, to look after you.’
They have also assured customers there will be social distancing, staff wearing visors and hand sanitizers plus they will be co-operating with the NHS Test & Trace system, so you will be asked for your name and phone number on arrival. They have also taken the decision to make the whole business cashless and they will be offering full table service only , so no service at the bar, and a one-way system through the building – IN through the fire exit door and OUT via the main lobby.
Other points to note – they are NOT taking bookings, simply go to the fire exit door (near the bar) on arrival, where you will be greeted, and T&T details taken. You will be allocated a table, hopefully in your chosen location – inside in the warm, or outside on either of the patios – and you will be introduced to your server, who will look after you and answer any questions. There will be single use paper menus, and the menu is also available to view on their website here: https://www.yeogroup.co.uk/documents/menus/cafe-bar/cafe_menu.pdf
Also note – taking the reduced number of tables inside into account, as well as customer requests, they have decided to make the large patio No Smoking so that guests can enjoy their food and drinks outside, in a smoke-free environment. If you wish to smoke, please request a table on the small patio. Whilst they will not be opening The Brasserie kitchen just yet, The Brasserie is the ideal place for spacious eating and drinking, so if the Café Bar and patios get busy, they will invite guests to sit upstairs, and again provide full table service.
As for Yeo Groups other venues – the plan is to re-open Café Bencotto by the start of October, followed by The Alex Brasserie kitchen at the end of October.
As their Gold Card promotion still had nearly two weeks to run when they closed all venues, they currently intend to honour any balances remaining and any Welcome Vouchers (valid between March 1st and July 31st 2020) during November, provided they are able to open other venues as planned. Silver gift cards are valid at any time, at any open venue (and are a possible option for friends and family who don’t have a bank card).
