Are you an up and coming young musician – or more established but still need a stage to strut your stuff?
On Sunday 5th July Ipswich Music Day returns to Christchurch Park for its 30th year. There are six stages of live entertainment and music from local upcoming artists. Ipswich Music Day is the largest free one-day music festival in the UK and is a brilliant celebration of music, culture and local talent. As well as programmed stages there are fairground rides for children and adults, street food and a marketplace.
Ipswich Music Day is the biggest free one-day outdoor festival in the country and a lot of that is down to the quality of the musicians taking part. For them it’s a fabulous opportunity to play on a big stage to thousands of people; for the fans it’s an opportunity to meet up with old musical friends and make some new ones as the whole of Suffolk heads to Christchurch Park.
Applications for the event are now open and will remain so until 10am on 23 March. So, don’t delay! An applications committee will look at what you can do and let you know later in the spring whether you have been selected.
Last year 180 wannabe stars come forward and 60 got their big chance.
As Music Day is a free event there are no fees paid to performers. But you get a stage and opportunity to get your work out there to 35,000 people. So what are you waiting for?
