Following a successful first year, a photo competition celebrating the beauty of East Suffolk is returning for a second summer.
The East Suffolk Photo Competition 2018 opened on Wednesday 1st August and entries are welcome from anyone living, working or visiting East Suffolk.
Last year Jack Ibbotson of Felixstowe was runner up in the under 16’s category – and his winning photo is featured above.
As before, there are four categories to choose from:
- Living in east Suffolk
- Working in east Suffolk
- Explore east Suffolk
- Under 16s (in any category)
Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils have been working in partnership since 2008 and are creating a new, single ‘super district’ council for East Suffolk which will come into effect in April 2019. The photo competition offers people the opportunity to showcase the area’s most scenic places and highlight what they love best about this beautiful part of the world.
In a joint statement, Cllr TJ-Haworth-Culf, Cabinet Member for Customers, Communities and Leisure at Suffolk Coastal and Cllr Michael Ladd, Cabinet Member for Tourism and Economic Development at Waveney District Council, said: “Our inaugural competition last year was a huge success with a wealth of entries from amateur and professional photographers, showcasing our beautiful beaches, rural areas, market towns and big skies. This year, we’re looking for even more people, whether they live, work or are just visiting East Suffolk to get involved and show us their favourite places within the district.”
Entries are welcome from all ages and from both amateur and professional photographers. The winner in each category will receive a shopping voucher and a framed copy of their photo.
The winners will be chosen by a panel of judges in October. One winner and one runner-up will be chosen for each category and winners will be informed directly and announced through social media, press and online coverage.
Entries should be submitted by emailing photos to email@example.com.
The competition closes at 11.59pm on Wednesday 5 September 2018.
