Grants Available – Deadlines Approaching

There are a number of grants administered by Suffolk Community Foundation where the deadline for applying is coming up fast. If your group or project needs funding – check below to see if you fulfil any of these criteria.

Suffolk Rural Fund

Grants of up to £4,000 are available to support constituted organisations and up to £1,000 to support ‘micro’ projects hosted by parish councils. The aim of the fund is to support initiatives that aim to improve the quality of life for those who live and work in rural communities.   Projects should include one or more of the following themes:

  • Outreach charitable work
  • Development of community hubs
  • Community self-help

The closing date for applications to this fund is 15th February 2018.

Suffolk Dementia Friendly Communities Fund

Grants of up to £5,000 are available for community based groups for activities within communities that can deliver a greater awareness and understanding of dementia or support to those affected by dementia including carers, so that they can remain independent and have choice and control over their lives. The closing date for applications is 19th February 2018.

Arts & Culture Fund  A brand new fund offering grants of up to £2,000 to ensure equality of access to the benefits that arts and culture can provide to improve the lives of those most in need in Suffolk. Projects must fit into at least one of the following themes:

  • Activities that aid the improvement of physical and emotional health/wellbeing
  • Tackling disadvantage by supporting participation and inclusive access to arts based projects
  • Developing communities that work together to support each other.

The closing date for applications to this fund is 23rd February 2018. Criteria  |  Application Form

#iwill Fund (formerly Youth Social Action Fund) The fund is open to registered charities, constituted community groups and other charitable organisations in Suffolk including social enterprises and CICs. Grants of up to £5,000 are available to support projects in Suffolk that engage young people aged 10 to 20 (or 25 for young people with disabilities) in volunteering and other activities that both benefit their communities and develop their skills. The closing date for applications is 28th February 2018.  Criteria  |  Application Form

Pargiter Trust Fund Grants up to £2,000 are available to support the work of charities, voluntary and community groups providing services and support or advice to older people with an emphasis on reaching smaller grassroots organisations in Suffolk. At least 90% of the beneficiaries of a grant must be over the age of 65. The closing date for applications is 1st March 2018. Criteria  |  Application Form

Sapphire Fund   Grants of up to £5,000 to support charities, voluntary and community groups in Mid Suffolk working to promote the use of green spaces for the benefit of good mental and physical health, to support older people, or to support the preservation and protection of church bells. Working Together Awards   The Working Together Fund is an awards programme open to Suffolk’s voluntary and community organisations and is funded by Suffolk County Council. The objective is to recognise outstanding service delivery or community activity as a result of increased collaborative working.  The programme will make awards of up to £10,000.
