So with the night drawing in – its time to look for a little entertainment to fill those dark evenings – and Felixstowe has plenty to offer.
On Friday 3rd The Spa Pavilion presents Dirty Dusting by Ed Waugh and Trevor Wood at 7.30pm. After a sellout UK tour in 2016, Dirty Dusting returns to the stage in 2017. Three cleaning ladies, Gladys, Elsie and Olive (past their sell by date) start up a telephone sex line! “The Telephone Belles”. On Saturday 4th the Mayor’s Charity Soul Night is at The Orwell Hotel at 7.30pm. With music by MJ Soul, raising funds for the Mayor’s charities – Level Two Youth Project, FACTS (Felixstowe Community Transport) and the Felixstowe and Walton United Football Club. On Sunday 5th Jazz East at The Alex presents Paul Higgs’ Brief History of Jazz from 8pm with Rob Palmer (double bass) and George Double (drums). Admission free.
Also on Sunday 5th Felixstowe Firework Spectacular 2017 starts at 4.30pm at Felixstowe and Walton United Football Club. The 10th annual event with the biggest and best display ever. Sponsored by Goldstar and supporting the Mayor’s charities.
Funfair, sideshows, ‘Night Flight’ aerial display team and live music from The AbbaBabes. On Thursday 9th there is a Festival of Remembrance at 7.30pm St Johns Church organised by the Felixstowe Royal British Legion branch. On Friday 10th and Saturday 11th Felixstowe Musical Theatre goes to the Movies at Trimley Memorial Hall. Performances on Friday at 7.30pm Saturday at 2.30pm (matinee) and 7.30pm. On Saturday 11th The Spa Pavilion presents T.Rextasy – Marc Bolan 40th Anniversary Tour at 7.30pm T.Rextasy have now been performing around the world for an incredible 25 years, a career that ironically out lives Marc’s very own T.Rex. This year they are celebrating Marc’s life and works with a very special commemorative tour.
