What’s On Stage in Felixstowe – April 2017

The better weather has arrived – Easter’s just around the corner – and there’s plenty on in Felixstowe to get you out and about.

On Wednesday 12th Music in Felixstowe present the Wednesday Lunchtime Series: The Ward Piano Quartet at 11.30am at The Orwell Hotel

With Nicholas Ward (violin), Wendy Poulston (viola), Harriet Bennett (cello) and Andrew Leach (piano) playing Haydn Trio no 24 in D, Brahms Piano Quartet in A op 26.

On Saturday 15th at The Spa Humpty Dumpty’s Easter Eggstravaganza, an Easter panto by  the Dennis Lowe Theatre Company

The performance is 45 minutes each half with a 20 minute interval followed by a meet and greet with the eggciting characters from the play, and there will be some Easter Eggs hidden around the theatre too – finders keepers!

Also on the 15th there is Felixstowe Mayor’s Charity 1940’s Live Music and Afternoon Tea at The Salvation Army Hall from 2pm – 4.30pm in aid of the Mayor’s charities – Level Two Youth Project and Guide Dogs.

Featuring Jane and Julie from ‘Tyler-Kemp Music’. Listen and sing-a-long to songs from the wartime.

On Sunday 16th from 8pm Live Music at The Fludyers Hotel features  local vocalist Chelsea Francis Admission free.

On Friday 21st at 1.30pm The Spa presents Easter Bunny’s Egg-sellent Adventure

Join the hunt for the hidden chocolate factory in Easter Bunny’s Eggs-ellent Adventure and meet him afterwards to get a special Easter present!

Songs include ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’, ‘Wheels on the Bus’, ‘The Hokey Cokey’, ‘One Finger, One Thumb’, ‘If You’re Happy And You Know It’, and many, many more!

This is a family show particularly suitable for 2-7 year olds and lasts for 40 minutes, followed by our popular meet, greet and treat with the Easter Bunny himself!

On Saturday 22nd art 7.30pm The Felixstowe Friends of St. Elizabeth Hospice present the Suffolk Constabulary Male Voice Choir Concert at St Johns Church

On Friday 28th Suffolk Libraries Presents: ‘The Artist’s Garden’, a film about an exhibition of American impressionism.

Two showings: 3pm (doors open at 2.30pm) and 7pm (doors open at 6.30pm).

On Saturday 29th The Spa presents The Counterfeit Stones 2017 Satis-fiction Tour at 7.30pm

The Counterfeit Stones are back at The Spa by popular demand! Following their hugely acclaimed show in 2016 they return with their 2017 Satis-fiction tour.

The show is essentially a mockumentary of the Rolling Stones’ colourful history from 1962. The repertoire, instruments and clothes faithfully match those of the originals, and their performance has been affectionately described as a masterpiece in ‘fraud rock and hookey nostalgia’.

On Sunday 30th at 3pm in St Andrews Church Music in Felixstowe present Come and Sing Brahm’s Requiem

Conducted by Geoff Lavery, with Christine Whiffen and Jonathan Rutherford (piano duet), plus soloists Patrick McCarthy (baritone) and Sarah Gallop (soprano).

Audience and singers £12.00, children free.
