What’s On – January 2017

Happy New Year!

You may be feeling a bit jaded – but there is plenty to be getting excited about in January if you want to rise from your couch and get out to see some live entertainment.

You can still catch the local panto – Dennis Lowe Theatre Company – Jack and the Beanstalk is at the Spa until Sunday 8th with performances at 2pm, and at 7pm on Friday 6th

Follow Jack and his family as they try to make ends meet in this fabulous new production of one of our best loved fairy tales. Great pantomime humour is blended with some new twists and a highly talented cast to make this a show to remember.

On Saturday 14th at 7.30pm The Spa present The Only Way Is Elvis – Marshall King in Concert

Following a stunning sell out show in January 2016, Marshall King returns to Felixstowe in 2017 the weekend after the King’s Birthday.

With Phelan Burgoyne (drums), Martin Speake (alto saxophone) and Rob Luft (guitar).

On Wednesday 25th at The Orwell Hotel at 11.30am Music in Felixstowe present Wednesday Lunchtime Series: Simon Brown Jazz Trio with Simon Brown (piano), Jose Canha (bass) and Alex Best (drums).

From Thursday 26th – Saturday 28th Youth Group Eastern Edge Theatre Company present their production of Guys & Dolls at The Spa.

This hugely talented youth company recently sold out the studio at the Wolsey Theatre with Bridge Over Oblivion, an original musical written, produced and directed by their team. The Spa have partnered with Eastern Edge to host this fund-raising run of Guys & Dolls, and all profits go towards their next original musical, currently in development.

The ambition is to take the new musical to the Edinburgh Festival in 2017, and of course, to see it at The Spa! Your support will be greatly appreciated.

Performances Thursday to Saturday at 7.30pm, with a 2.30pm matinee on Saturday.

Also on Saturday 28th Felixstowe Mayor’s Charity Soul Night is at 7.30pm at Trimley Memorial Hall
