Felixstowe Unwrapped…Late Night Xmas Shopping Tonight

Support your local shops and support the late night shopping initiative – that’s the plea from local businesses and Felixstowe Forward.

On Fridays 9th, 16th and 23rd December, a group of key town centre retailers, including Adnams Felixstowe, Coastal Crafts, the East of England Co-op, Gorgeous Jewels, Hills Jewellers, M&S, Nick Barber Auctions, Pierrot, Ruby & Scarlet and The Salon, together with Felixstowe Forward, have joined forces to develop a sparkling all-new Christmas Shopping Campaign.

Around 45 businesses will remain open on Friday evenings until 7pm. On these evenings there will also be free car parking in the town centre car parks (Crescent, Highfield and Ranelagh) from 3pm onwards.

Whether you’re looking for a bargain, designer goods, locally produced foodie treats or that extra-special gift… Felixstowe has it all. Bring your family and friends for special themed activities, demonstrations and events which are planned for each evening, such as fashion, jewellery, food and drink and gift wrapping – plus you can check out our giant real Christmas tree at the Triangle.

And if you fancy a break from the shopping, then Café Bencotto, Lillies, Costa Coffee and Crafty Coffee will all be open for seasonal refreshments… at the latter you can also have-a-go at some Christmas decopatching and ceramic painting.

There will also be free live entertainment and displays at the Triangle Canopy:

9th December (5pm-7pm): Ipswich Over 50’s Brass Band – carols and seasonal music.

16th December (various timings): buskers (Eve White and Charlie Pitman) and a performance from ‘Livia’.

23rd December (5pm-6.30pm): J.S. and The Lockerbillies – rockabilly song and dance.

Children can take part in Flip and Flop’s (the Felixstowe Cheeky Monkeys) new Christmas Trail. Find the picture frames around the town centre and you could win some stationery goodies from Pierrot Stationers where you will find leaflets with more details.

Mark Barham from Pierrot Stationers says “Working in partnership with Felixstowe Forward and other key town centre retailers we are creating the perfect festive treat for shoppers in the town centre. We would like to encourage everyone to take advantage of the free car parking after 3pm on the four Fridays throughout December. With its abundance of boutiques, independent shops and high street brands, Felixstowe is definitely the place to shop this Christmas”.
